Gas ejector
Description
A gas ejector is a robust vacuum pump that works according to the Venturi principle. The pressure energy of the propellant gas is converted into velocity energy. By installing a gas ejector upstream of a liquid ring vacuum pump, the achievable suction pressure can be reduced to up to 8 mbara. Thanks to the absence of moving parts, the gas ejector is particularly durable and economical to use. Its working range is between 100 and 8 mbara.
The gas ejector has three connections: for propellant gas, process gas and the gas outlet. In the mixing tube, a nozzle increases the kinetic energy of the propellant gas, which leads to the mixing of the two gases. The Venturi shape at the end of the mixing tube slows down the mixture and increases the pressure so that the gas is expelled at a higher pressure than during suction.
The gas ejectors in the EJ series from IBEX Pumps offer additional efficiency thanks to an integrated bypass: a mechanical valve automatically regulates the bypass depending on the suction pressure, resulting in a higher suction volume flow above 100 mbara and a shorter evacuation time. The gas ejectors in the EJ series are mounted directly on the suction nozzle of the liquid ring vacuum pump, ensuring simple and space-saving installation.
